Oh Give Me a Home (Sans Buffalos)

We have started house hunting with a Realtor. As we've gone through several houses we realized that we are not going to get everything we want (at this point anyway). There are too many neighborhoods around here that I just don't want to raise kids in, and others in which the houses are way too expensive for what they are. I'm sure we could raise our maximum buying price, but I refuse to get into a house payment that might get me into trouble down the road. So, we compromise.

There are a few we are going to walk through this coming weekend. One house in particular, while it is on a main arterial road, has caught my eye and I have high hopes for it. (Link Removed) I'm only going to keep that link on this blog for a little while, then I'll be deleting it. So, if you're interested, look at it now.

Looks like a good deal. We are leasing one for a year then maybe we will buy it if we like living there. Of course ours is much smaller than the one you are looking at but it has been completely redone. Dad

We are looking as well. For us building is cheaper than buying. Land very expensive...building supplies for us practically free as I work for a builders merchants and will get everything at cost!!(the company won't make a penny off me). In order to purchase land anywhere near where we live you have to apply for local need so we have done so for four different plots of land. Now the big wait to see if we are given approval and the to get planning for the house we want to build which the realitors don't think will be a problem as we have designed the house around Tom who is registared disabled and has occasional use of a wheelchair. As soon as I can I will try and post the floor plans...please note that this is a basic house as we are trying to only apply for a morage that can be paid off in tem years! We don't want to pay a morgage when martin retires from cleaning windows (in ten years he will be almost 50! ugh)

Has Leslie started packing yet?

We've actually been joking about that. What she is doing is NOT packing; it's called "Getting Rid of Unwanted Stuff and Organizing the Rest into Boxes." Go figure...
